“René? Prance maybe… but run?” I can’t believe it, either!
Many of you know me as a cyclist. So when I agreed to run for Top Honors, I knew my current running style (prance for half a mile, brisk e-mail check walk for two) would need a little bit of restructuring. Knowing that most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they’ve got a second (me), running my first marathon at 26 miles may be the most challenging goal I’ve committed to, especially since my core inspiration and motivation are in the eyes of my entire Top Honors family.
In 2017, I was presented with an opportunity to work with Top Honors in launching the Brooklyn location. Not only have I been able to share in the involvement of providing FREE math tutoring to some of the most dynamic middle school kids around NYC, but I’m also experiencing first-hand major positive impacts on Top Honors students generated by our volunteer tutors. Additionally, coordinating the Wednesday and Saturday tutoring sessions is by far the highlight of my week.
While I try to give Top Honors AALLL of my spare time, I need your donations so that this amazing organization can meet the growing need of providing help to middle school students that will improve their basic math proficiency and critical thinking skills.
Although you may never see me prance again, help me raise $4000 to support Top Honors in continuing to provide a learning environment for more kids in NYC!
