The first time I ran the NYC Marathon for Top Honors was in 2015. I have since referred to November 1, 2015 as “the greatest day of my life.” But, because I hope my peak was not at 25, I am running the NYC Marathon for Top Honors again in 2017, and planning to make November 5, 2017 the new greatest day of my life.
Here are some reasons I feel confident that 2017 will be even better than 2015:
* Since 2015, I have run three more half marathons, as well as a handful of other/shorter races, and I have (for the most part) enjoyed every minute of every step.
* Since 2015, I have joined the Top Honors Junior Board, only deepening my connection to the organization and the students.
* Since 2015, I have gotten at least two years older and wiser.
Now, I also need your help to make 2017 as good as it can be.
My goal is to raise $4,800 for Top Honors, which will give 10 years of tutoring through Top Honors’ program, 5,052 erasers to clean up scratch-work, or 1,904 decks of cards for playing math war. To me, $4,800 means $0.09 per step I will take as I run 26.2 miles, $178 per year old I will be on 11/5/2017, or $1,200 per year I have been involved with Top Honors.
It would mean the world to me to have your support as I embark on this adventure. I know from experience that, when I hit mile 21 and all I want to do is stop, thinking through all of the people that demonstrated their belief in me by donating is what will get me through those last 5.2 miles and across the finish line at Tavern on the Green. Any amount you are able to donate will go a long way towards helping the students of New York City improve their math skills.
And if you’re in NYC on 11/5/2017, I hope to see you somewhere along the way!
Thank you in advance,
