If you work with NYC middle school students who need a little extra help with basic math skills, Top Honors might be the answer. Our free tutoring program uses games, fast-paced exercises, and real-life examples to help your students gain the confidence necessary to improve their math skills.

What to Expect

Top Honors isn’t a one-size-fits-all program. We start by assessing our students’ basic math skills, identifying and working on the areas where help is needed most. Periodic assessments will be made to track progress.

Students will work hard in our program, but the exercises are fun and they’ll have a real sense of accomplishment when they’re done. In no time, they’ll see marked improvements in their math skills and, more importantly, they will have a lot more confidence.

Who Are Our Students?

Our focus is on fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who need help with basic math skills, are motivated to learn, and have strong adult support. We review student applications on a first-come, first-serve basis and admit students on a rolling basis throughout the academic year as space permits.

In accordance with our funding and support, admission preference is given to students who attend public schools in NYC District 3.

Our students demonstrate a 60% improvement in math.

What’s Next

If you think Top Honors might be right for your students, the next step is to spread the word and help them apply for enrollment. While each application is reviewed independently, if your organization has a group of eligible students interested in joining together, we will schedule a group appointment.

Each applicant’s parent or guardian initiates the process by first submitting a student application.
